Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data BTG Labs ("we", "us") collects, how it is used, and how it is stored. It applies to btg-labs.com, Pirate Twist marketing automation, and any integrations we operate (TikTok, Instagram, Discord, Steam).
1. Who this policy applies to
This site is the home page of an independent game studio. We do not run a consumer-facing service that asks visitors to sign up, log in, or purchase anything directly on this domain.
The data we describe below is collected only when the studio itself authenticates against third-party platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Discord) using its own account credentials, in order to publish marketing content for our own games.
2. What we collect from third-party platforms
TikTok (via Login Kit and Content Posting API)
When the studio account authorizes our marketing automation, we receive:
- An open_id (anonymized TikTok user identifier)
- A display_name (the public TikTok handle shown on our profile)
- Access and refresh tokens issued by TikTok
We do not request access to other users' content, statistics, or messages. The scopes we use are limited to user.info.basic, video.upload, and (in production) video.publish.
Instagram, Discord, Steam
Equivalent identifiers + access tokens for the studio's own accounts on each platform. Used only to publish marketing content from those accounts.
3. How the data is used
- To display the connected account name in our internal Slack dashboard ("posting to @piratetwistgame")
- To authenticate API calls that publish marketing content from the studio's own accounts
- For nothing else: no profiling, no advertising, no third-party analytics, no aggregation across accounts
4. How the data is stored
Access tokens, refresh tokens, and identifiers are stored in a private .env configuration file on the studio's own server. The file has restrictive UNIX permissions (read/write for the studio account only) and is never committed to any source-code repository, public or private.
Data is never shared with third parties. We do not sell or rent any data we hold.
5. Data retention
Tokens are retained while the integration remains active. They are deleted within 30 days of either (a) the studio revoking the integration from the platform's side, or (b) the studio decommissioning the relevant agent in our marketing automation.
6. Your rights
Because the data we hold relates to the studio's own platform accounts (not visitors to btg-labs.com), the access / correction / deletion rights described in privacy frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA are exercised by the studio itself via each platform's settings page.

7. Data deletion requests
To request deletion of any data we hold about you, email us at:

Please include the following in your email:
- Platform (IG / TikTok / FB / Discord / btg-labs.com)
- Handle / username on that platform
- What to delete — describe the data or interaction you want removed
- Prior reference (optional) — any prior ticket or correspondence number
We confirm receipt within 7 business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days of confirmation.
What we can delete
- Outbound DMs sent by our automation (Postmaster) to your account
- Comments and reactions our agents posted on your content
- Internal records linking your handle to those interactions (e.g. rows in our
postmaster_dmstable)
What we can't delete on your behalf
Content you posted yourself on a third-party platform (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Discord, etc.) must be deleted via that platform's own account-deletion or content-removal flow. We can only delete data we hold — we have no ability to alter your posts, profile, or history on platforms we don't control.
8. Cookies and analytics
btg-labs.com does not set any cookies. We do not run client-side analytics. We do not embed third-party tracking scripts.
